Sometimes family members and friends will remark after a diagnosis has been made that they are surprised that they didn’t notice the eating disorder or didn’t realize that certain behaviors or physical complaints were related to an eating disorder. However, people who are struggling with bulimia nervosa often experience emotions of shame and guilt about their behaviors. This means that many people with bulimia nervosa will go to great lengths to hide their behaviors to avoid anyone finding out about the eating disorder. It is important to note that this is not an exhaustive list of symptoms and people who do not have all of the symptoms below may still be struggling with bulimia nervosa or another eating disorder. Also, these signs and symptoms are not specific to eating disorders and may reflect other conditions. Physical Symptoms Bulimia nervosa is characterized by?? Repeated episodes of binge eating, which is eating a large amount of food in a short period of time and feeling out of control while doing so,  andThe use of compensatory behaviors such as vomiting, using laxatives or diuretics,  or engaging in  extreme amounts of exercise in order to offset eating. Because many sufferers are of average weight, physical symptoms of bulimia may not be noticeable to others until the disorder has become extremely severe. It is important for anyone experiencing the following physical symptoms to be assessed by a physician. Swollen glands, roundness in jaw area, bloodshot eyes,Calluses on the back of the handLightheadedness or loss of balance (may experience fainting)Yellowing, graying, spotted or decaying teethTooth sensitivityTooth cavitiesMouth ulcersChest painsHeart palpitationsHeadacheStomach achesFrequent sore throatElectrolyte imbalances and dehydrationSwelling of hands and feetChronic bouts of constipation (resulting from laxative abuse)Vomiting blood Dentists are often the first to notice signs of self-induced vomiting in patients with bulimia nervosa because of the tell-tale pattern of dental erosion primarily on the internal surface of the teeth.?? Bulimia and Your Teeth Puffy cheeks among patients who vomit are one of the other noticeable physical signs. Calluses on the hand from inserting it in the mouth to cause vomiting may also be visible and are known as Russells sign.?? Later in the illness, this sign may not even be visible because patients are able to vomit without mechanical stimulation.   Behavioral Symptoms These are symptoms that are often noticed outwardly by family members and friends.?? Evidence of purging â€" Always needing to go to the restroom or showering after meals,  or finding packages of laxatives or diureticsEvidence of binge eating â€" Stashing food, stealing food, eating large amounts in one sittingFamily members or roommates may notice large amounts of food that are missing from the cabinets or pantry or notice large amounts of food packaging in trashcans or vehiclesFrequent trips to the bathroomExtreme eating habits (strict dieting followed by overeating)Desperate to exercise even when it gets in the way of other activitiesWanting to exercise a specific amount to ‘burn off’ the calories that have been taken inCreation of schedules or rituals that allow for binging and purgingUses drugs as a way to suppress appetiteTalks about dieting, calories, food or weight so much that it gets in the way of regular conversationWithdrawal from friends, families and usual activitiesSeems fatigued Emotional Symptoms Although more difficult to notice than behavioral symptoms, emotional symptoms are often recognized by family members and friends, even when they don’t know about the binging and purging behaviors. These emotional issues are not unique to bulimia nervosa but may raise concerns.?? Self-esteem, self-worth, or attractiveness determined by appearance and weightDepressionMood swingsExtreme irritabilityStrong need for approvalExtremely self-criticalFeeling out of control Other Diagnoses Sometimes, people with anorexia nervosa will also use binging or purging behaviors. However, the distinction between bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa is that people struggling with anorexia nervosa have significantly low body weight.?? George W.Bush who was the President of the United States of America at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attacks was against what occurred. George W.Bush talks about the incident as being a monumental day in our nations history, and how he went from being a â€Å"President primarily focused on domestic issues to a war time President†, something he never anticipated or wanted (27). George W.Bush valued America and it’s rights to freedom and believed that whoever was responsible for this act of terrorism is held responsible. If I had one Job to choose in this world it would be a veterinarian specializing in equine. When I was little this was what I knew I wanted to grow up and do, even knowing I would have to go to school for what seemed to be forever to receive my doctorate. Since before I was walking I was riding horses, which lead into the rodeo route when I turned eleven and was the main focus point my whole life and if there’s passion I had, it was rodeo. When I was about sixteen is when I realized how much I wanted to pursue being a veterinarian. I was on the rodeo road hard core at this point in my life, it even took me out of normal high school to be home schooled while on the road. My main horse was getting hurt on a regular basis which led me to develop a close relationship with a vet who was an equine specialist. When you’re a vet you can work for yourself and if it is something you enjoy and want to have the knowledge and willingness to learn, you will be successful by the knowledge and the fact that people will trust you with their animals that they hold lose to their hearts. The hours may be long and tiring but when you enjoy your work the hours don’t seem as long as they are. When someone puts their trust into you, you appreciate that and don’t want to let them down. Its not Just an animal to people, it’s like a child and for some people they can have up to half a million dollars invested. The work environment is so amazing as you are inside and outside helping what you love, for me its horses. When you walk into the office to advise you’re there for your appointment your greeting with smiling faces to make you comfortable owing you’re in good hands. You have places to unload and place your horses while your waiting so they are not uncomfortable if they are in pain or sick. My goals in this role of life would first to be to finish school top in the class showing the knowledge and education provided to me. I would want to have an internship with a well-known and trusted equine vet to establish and create the knowledge of someone who has been in the business and established. I would want to open my own business after I have created a small knowledge for the customers for myself. Once my business was opened I would want to have another veterinarian on board to handle the over boarding of many customers and emergency services for patients. I would want to create and share knowledge with customers and establish for the long run of the work place. I would want to be trusted and a well-known place to go when you’re in need of any help with your equine. My interest were much conformed into a lot of different major categories, unfortunately my dream Job of a veterinarian was not on there. The closest thing to my interest would be animal caretaker. With my dream major not being listed, it Just wows me that my interest are more geared to creating of animals. The education level needed for an animal caretaker is only a high school diploma and previous work experience. The annual salary is only about $21 ,OHO. O which is another reason to me that sometimes the things you enjoy Just are not good ideas for the economy the way it is. That would upset anyone, even to be glad to know you’re okay but you have been betrayed by someone you have trusted that’s not ethical or morally right. There are many consequences from actions from you performing unethical acts, you can never gain the trust of clients and create new customer relationships. As I stated earlier you want to establish a great patient and client base, they need to trust you and understand that you’re going to help; without that you may never make it in your profession. They can also range to legal issues; it is illegal to perform necessary medical acts without the patient and client understanding consent. Acting ethically is something that should be a natural act for you, as when you were a kid treats others how you would like to be treated. Of Mice And Men_imagry Essay Clinging together in the face of lonliness and alienation, George and Lennie desperately seek to escape their poverty, and strive to transform their chimerical dream into a reality. This heartfelt dream is what sets George and Lennie aside from the other men, yet ironically it is so easily shattered. Throughout the book Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, copious comparisons to animals are stated, signifying that their antagonistic way of life was not suitable for humans; This animal imagery helps elucidate the somewhat abstract ideals and character traits present in the text. Lennies demeanor is compared to many animals, Lennies death is compared to the death of Curlys dog, and even the end of Georges and Lennies dream is represented by a heron and the snake. To thoroughly describe Lennies bizarre disposition, Steinbeck compares him to a bear, horse, terrier, and a bull. Large and capable of violence, yet clueless and tender like a bear Lennie is totally unpredictable at times. Lennie is also similar to a bear in that his hands are huge like bear paws, and in the closing of the story he is said to Creep as silently as a bear would. Snorting into the water, Lennie reminds George of a horse. Similarly to how Lennie is compared to bear, he is said to be as strong as a bull; Lennie is also reluctant like a terrier who does not want to bring a ball to his master, but Lennie finally gives George his mouse. The brilliantly cryptic foreshadowing of Lennies death is told through the shooting of Candys dog. Candys dog is old and is not useful any more, so therefore the men in the bunk house want to dispose of him. Forcing the reluctant Candy to let them kill his dog was an arduous task, but the insistent nagging finally makes Candy capitulate his old dog to them. The dog is not only unsuspecting, but also helpless to the bullet that passes through the base of his skull killing him in an instant though without pain. Analogously Lennie is killed the same way, and even though George is reluctant, he knows that it is his obligation kill Lennie. Probably the most tragic point in the story is the realization that George and Lennies dream will not come true. A little snake slithering in the pool of water, totally unsuspecting his fate, is suddenly swallowed by a heron looking to satisfy his hunger. Curlys wife is searching to satisfy her hunger for someone to converse with, someone who will listen to her stories and to commiserate with her. She causes Lennie to break her neck, which ends Lennies life, and suddenly shatters his, Georges, Candys, and Crooks dream. These examples of animal imagery help illustrate John Steinbecks message, and define the present theme. The characters in the book posses many eclectic characteristics which make correspond to certain animals. This tragic story possesses a certain clandestine message, and it can be interpreted in many different ways. The one point that is most obviously stated is that being different is not easy, and that some people are not meant to exist on this Earth. Seamus Heaney`S Digging The Modernist theme of mechanization, brought on by the beginning of World War I and the technological revolution of the era, manifests itself powerfully and completely in the language of Seamus Heaneys first poem, Digging. From various literary devices, as well as graphic imagery the mechanization of the human spirit comes to life in the form of his father, and grandfather. The past and present become one, with the common bond the honest work of the Irish poor. In his own way, and with his own pen, Heaney develops the idea of mechanized men who, through the drudgery and repetition of their lives, create a life for them and their families, taking pride in their work, and acceptance of their fate. He develops seamlessly the idea of a man-machine, a hybrid of automation and human, married by toil and tool. Likewise, Heaney writes this as a way to tie himself to his ancestors in the British Isles, illustrating the power that they wielded with shovel and sweat, making their contribution no less enlightened than his own. In his first poem, Heaney develops the image of mechanization and automation that follows the poor of his country, through graphic imagery, sound, and literary mastery. Heaneys imagery throughout the poem echoes the automation of the workers, illustrating the type of work that they do as something that could be done by machinery. Titling the piece Digging immediately highlights for the reader the verbal connotation of the work, and puts the theme of work, and of manual labor into the limelight. As well, Heaneys use of the word gun to describe his squat pen in line 2 places the emphasis on machinery allowing a comparison of the human condition to present technology. This theme continues throughout the poem, as Heaney likens his fathers act of digging to that of a machine, as his father nestled on the lug, the shaft/Against the inside knee was levered firmly. (ll.10-11) These words take the labor out of the realm of man, by using mechanical terms to describe the marriage of shovel and man, creating an altogether different image of a type of robot tearing up sod. While he describes this straining rump, Heaney takes this man out of the realm of men, and into a realm of manufactured workers, a realm of repetition, a realm of stooping workers, their humanity set aside to finish the job at hand. However, while Heaney describes the toil of his father, he also ties it to the alike labor of a past generation, namely his grandfathers, used to nicking and slicing neatly, heaving sods/Over his shoulder.(22-23) This juxtaposition of past and present illustrates the monotony of the work involved, and how things take time to change. Heaney creates the transition between his father and grandfather in a two-line stanza that highlights the pride of these men, and how their automation gave cause for praise from their descendant, Heaney. Their legacy of hard work, however mechanized, illustrates the value placed on labor in their society. While Heaney creates the idea of men-machines through visual images and parts, he also creates a very auditory world, one that echoes the act of a factory, or a piece of farm machinery. From the first stanza, with its clean rasping sound, the readers ear can almost hear the whir of a lawn mower, or something of that nature, cutting and slicing. (3) The rhythm of Heaneys fathers digging highlights the monotony of the act, the incessant meter of his practiced spade. This coincides with the sounds in the prior stanza, as the authors first recollection is an auditory one. Later in the poem, the squelch and slap/Of soggy peat, continues the idea of a machine chugging away at the turf, creating again the essence of a machine oblivious to the conditions of the work men. (25-26) Heaneys workers are extremely vivid, both physically and mentally, even after so many years, and the trials and hardships that they endure, day in and day out, add to the essence of their existence, one that lends ac ceptance to the fact that they are somewhat more than men, that their labor, however menial, is somewhat mechanized, somewhat heroic, and altogether driven

We have also made many important discoveries and have established a lot of research in space exploration. The U.S. is the leading space exploration nation in the world. We have had many important flies in space, whether it is with the one-manned rockets or the many manned shuttles that have significantly changed our perspectives. The first space exploration mission was January 31, 1958. The satellite was Explorer 1, and it discovered the Earths radiation belt. The first man-operated rocket was launched February 20, 1962. It contained John Glenn, and orbited the Earth three times. This flight showed that a human could be shot into space and come back intact. These are early important flies in the U.S.s history. Some of the most important explorations came with the Apollo rockets. Apollo 8 made an astonishing 10 orbits around the moon; this was the first rocket to ever do that. The most memorable Apollo moment was when Apollo 11 headed for the moon. The rocket carried Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, Jr., and was sent to be the first rocket to land on the moon and allow the astronauts walk on the moon. Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon and he placed the US flag atop the moon. Along with the space exploration came new discoveries. One major discovery was the invention of the space shuttle. The space shuttle allowed many crew men to be launched into space at a single time.
